Mundo Viejo Gallery
A fine art gallery on the high road between
Taos and Santa Fe

1751 State Road 75, Vadito, NM 87579
(575) 587-1780

This wonderful, storybook property is currently for sale!

The house is approximately 100 years old, with classic territorial architecture and 24 inch thick adobe walls. Territorial architecture is adobe structure with Victorian influences. The house itself is a two story, 3 bedroom, 2 bath, with approximately 2,500 square feet of living space. It has very large rooms; most are about 17 x 20' in size, with 10.5 foot ceilings and large ceiling beams called vigas. The house sits on a little over 3 acres of land, with 2.25 acres of pasture, and .75 acres of apple trees, gardens, and many out buildings; including a 1,500 square foot adobe barn, which has been converted into an Art Gallery, there is also a 2 horse barn with hay storage, a large adobe chicken coop, two separate covered parking areas, a log cabin structure for storage or work room with 220 electric. The property has great water rights (water that is diverted from the river, in the acequia, a very valuable commodity in New Mexico), and a very well maintained irrigation ditch(acequia), which allows for plenty of water and a very very green property and valley.

The property is located 23 miles south east of Taos Plaza on State Road #75, 3 miles outside of the town of Penasco, in a small, and family oriented village called Vadito. The house is set back from the road by a large front yard with nine apple trees and a tall fence, but is close enough to allow for commercial usage. For the last 12 years we have been running an artist owned gallery called Mundo Viejo Gallery. The road itself is a well-known route from Santa Fe to Taos, called The High Road, and has many galleries and shops, which are frequented year round by tourist taking this scenic drive. There is a High Road Art Tour every September for 2 week-ends, which brings many many visitors.

The entire property radiates an old world rustic charm and is right out of a story book. It is a perfect property for someone who wants to have some supplemental income, and or horses with riding directly off the property in the endless forest, which surrounds the valley, or a seasonal residence for skiing, hiking, fishing, hunting, and in general recreating. The house is grand and the property is one of the lushest in Northern New Mexico. A must see!

The small town of Penasco is just 3 miles away, which has a hardware store, markets, and a gourmet restaurant, and a ski area 8 miles away, which is open in the winter for skiing and snowboarding, and in the summer for hiking, biking, fishing and Disc Golf. It only takes 30 minutes to get to the center of Taos, and in 60 minutes you can be in Santa Fe, yet you are in the middle of a beautiful rural mountain setting.
